1. Christmas Tree With Pencil Bulbs

When I turned an ash blank into a Christmas tree I decided it needed some life. It needed color. I remembered seeing ornaments made entirely of colored pencils and decided to drill holes randomly into the branches. When I glued in the pencils, it looked like Sputnik. I rough sawed the excess and the ornament started to come to life. I returned to the lathe to finish shaping the tree. After a coat of finish, the bland ash tree had the pizzazz it needed. My Christmas tree glowed with ‘ornaments.’
