Woodturning Another Batch of Quilting Tools – Special Request

Maple Quilt Tools

This video post is best viewed on this page. However, in case of difficulty, it is also posted on YouTube and FaceBook.

My sister uses these quilting tools in her quilting to press seams.

She asked me for some more. She must eat them?

They are easy to turn.

Three are maple; 1 is colored laminated wood.

I also used my tri-wire burning tool to accent the pieces.

All are finished with shellac

Enjoy!

My daughter-in-law is a quilter and I had no idea what she uses but I will make a few for her. Thank you I watch every week for your videos. Also liked your burning tool gotta make one of those also lol

She probably “loans” them to friends who fail to return them. I made a few to sell but the demand conflicted with my profit margins so I stopped. I used mesquite because I had it on hand (I am also allergic to the dust).

I have made a few lots now , mainly do them in batches of a dozen. My comment on the ones with the bead was it creates a weak point as this is the end that takes all the strain, it would be better at the point turning end. I use one myself as I have been making quilts for about 30 years.
A great product, thank you for your inspiration and encouragement.

Thanks for a great video. It was a great demo of using the skew and using a bowl gauge for turning the spindle rather than a spindle roughing gauge.
