46. Lewiston Remembered I finished this ornament during the week the tragic shooting occurred here in Maine. I plan on sending it to my niece and her family who own a coffee shop in Lewiston. I hope they are able to display it in their shop during the holiday season in memory of the lives lost. 250. Minion Nutcrackers These are two of the Minion characters made into nutcrackers. They are Kevin (on the Left) and Stuart (on the Right). They were made for my granddaughters as Christmas presents. The bodies are turned from an 4″ x 4″ piece of Basswood. They stand about 16″ tall. I turned the individual parts from various scraps of Basswood, Popular and Holly that I had laying around the shop. The bases are made from a piece of cherry scrap. 356. The Battle For Christmas With Christmas just weeks away, the Vikings take on the North Pole Penguins in the annual Battle for Christmas. Even though the Vikings have a nasty reputation, the Snowmen will referee to keep it a friendly game. Every year I make each member of the family a new Christmas decoration. Each Viking has a unique weapon. I started back in July when I finally found the fake fur I was looking for. The whole display is 23 Vikings and 30 penguins. The penguins are walnut and maple with a friction finish. The snowman is poplar and walnut with a CA glue finish. The Vikings are spalted maple and lots of leftovers with a friction finish. The weapons have a clear coat of lacquer. The red beards were painted with craft store paint. The trees are spalted maple with green stain. – Lucy Kristan (Confident) |
357. Snowmen Having A Drink Two Snowmen with blue crystal eyes and an orange nose, the mouth and buttons were added using a wood burner. The arms are twigs from a rose bush. 358. Flower Angels Flower angels are made with a wooden bead for the head, with the hair and face hand painted. The body is a flower glued to the bead. Wings are either lace or leaf from the flower. A bow is attached at base of the head and a decoration of either a tiny flower or crystal is attached to the front of the bow. The halo is a gold or silver pipe cleaner.
