Tom,
The challenge entry form is now open at http://www.AsWoodTurns.com/Challenges. Here you can provide the information and upload your ornament picture.
Thank you
Alan Stratton
Carl Jacobson has not mentioned this a single time in the past 2 weeks?? Just wondering if he is still involved.
He appears to be much more low key this year. π

Hi Alan. I just want to clarify the process if I wish to enter more than one ornament. Do I upload all of the ornament pictures to Dropbox in one batch? If so, how will you know which picture is for which entry? Or do we do this one ornament at a time, with separate write-up and separate Dropbox upload? (I suspect the latter.)
The latter. However, I still have somewhat a problem telling which is which if the descriptions are similar. Perhaps you can add an extra note for my use only.
Alan
Is there a link to view this year’s submissions?
Working on the video now – should be coming up shortly.
Alan
Will there be a Christmas ornament challenge this year (2019)? If so, please send me instructions.
Thanks,
Warnie Lore

Hi
I’m Andy I’ve been wood turning at an beginner level for about ten years on and off I find turning on the lathe therapeutic and relaxing when I saw your competition on you tube I had just turned my first two tone snowman and thought what the heck I’m going to submit this in your competition.
Kind Regards
Andy Mills
Please do. I’ll open the submission form November 1st.

Jeff is a 20-year stroke victim with the use of only his left side. He has aphasia and depends on his fellow woodturners to describe his work, “The Western MA Woodturners”
Both Jeff and his fellow woodturners are an inspiration to all others with challenges to overcome.

It was so hard to choose only 5 ornaments. So many of them were an inspiration to this newish turner.
Here are my picks:
2, 8, 22, 27, 44

OK, here are my votes. #48 #33 #23 #11 #28
This was a very difficult decision. In the future would it be possible to include the category that the ornaments have been entered in? I tried to pick from each of the groups by guessing but it’s very difficult to distinguish which category those in what I would call the “middle” groups can overlap a lot. Just my two cents.
Now, you see why judging is so difficult. π

Thank you for holding this event. I received the announcement from the Cape Cod Woodturners and the Western Mass Woodturners. The word is certainly getting out there.
Thanks again,
Mike
And thank you for participating. Spread the word.
Alan
Had to submit a spell corrected entry for “Lumpy Icicle”
Sorry for the bother.
Thanks for doing this event.
Gday from sunny Oz, down under.
My first time entering the challenge, thanks for hosting this.
