19. Snow man and Tree
I was too late for last years challenge, when I made this. The snowman, and tree are made from a broken ash tent stake I got at work. The hat is from walnut, and the nose is padauk. I burned the buttons, and face with my soldering iron. The base is lightly figured maple. – Matt Pride |

22. Christmas Ornament
I cut the pen blank into three and glued them together side to side to make a square. This was sandwiched between yew to make the main body. The appendages were turned in Zebrawood. The turned sections were finished with Yorkshire grit and Hampshire Sheen before being assembled. P7 – Raymond Williams |

For the ornament I hand turned a Banksia Pod with Black American Walnut Finial and top, I finished the piece if hand carved Limewood Reindeer antlers that surround the Banksia Pod sphere. I sanded the ornament to 320 grit then finished with Danish Oil. – Sean Evelegh |

35. Christmas snowmen
This is the snowman Christmas decoration that I am entering in the 2017 Christmas Ornament Challenge. I wanted a very simple design, because I needed to make over a dozen of these for family and friends. This design is based on a video from The Sonoran Woodshop. For the body, I used maple that I salvaged from an old tabletop. The hat is made from walnut. For the eyes, nose, and buttons I used a package of black and white brads, which I found at the Michaels craft store. The brass hanger loop is from Canadian Tire. – Walter Turchyn |

The ornament is made up of maple, paduak, purpleheart, black walnut and bubinga strips that are laminated and layered. There are also two thin layers of yellow pine in the layers to give it some extra size. The cap and finial are made from purple heart.
